Northern Ireland Dental Practice Committee represents all dental practitioners in Northern Ireland whatever the mix of the practice. The committee negotiates with DHSSPS on matters of terms and conditions of service and remuneration in the general dental services.
The committee is currently negotiating a new contract for high street dentists in Northern Ireland.
The committee generally meets three times per year, and on an ongoing basis members of the committee will be involved in ad hoc working parties or negotiation teams.
BDA members receive a subsistence allowance where appropriate and have their travel costs reimbursed. The Northern Ireland General Dental Services Levy Fund pays dentists sessional rates for time away on committee business. See British Dental Guild Rate.
